High Marks Given in Review

Prince George's County Habitat has the potential to be a phenomenal affiliate, according to a recent review by Lynda Tiller Carter, Affiliate Support Manager for the Central Atlantic Region of Habitat for Humanity International. Every few years, each Habitat affiliate undergoes a standard evaluation to measure performance against the "Standards of Excellence" set by Habitat's central headquarters.
Impressed by the growth that we've made since our last review three years ago, Carter was pleased with out organizational progress, especially in the areas of committee work, volunteer participation, and board member activity.
"I'm very excited by how this affiliate is doing," Carter said at a recent P.G. Habitat executive board meeting. "You're really moving forward."
In order to evaluate the affiliate, Carter spent a day with our staff at our new offices on 34th Street reviewing policy and procedures. She also visited a couple of the Habitat-built houses. Finally, she met for close to an hour with the board that evening to discuss her positive findings.
